THE HOTEL

Elegant, bright apartments

We love our Asplund! Designed by the world-renowned architect Gunnar Asplund, the hotel is one of many brick buildings he designed in the 1930s for the Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control.

Elegant comfort is important in our apartments. We want our guests, who are often returning and enjoy longer stays, to feel at home. We generally focus on light and elegant atmospheres.

Gunnar’s legacy is important to us. Led by our love for design, we inaugurated Asplund Lab in the autumn of 2019 – the exhibition hall in our atrium.

Situated on the hotel’s ground floor, Meckbach Träningscenter is a fully equipped modern gym with steam bath, nutritionists and massage. Workouts are complimentary for guests.

In the middle of ‘Nothing’

Asplund is located in the park area Ingenting (meaning ‘Nothing’), within a historic setting. Rumour has it that both Bellman and the artist Johan Tobias Sergel spent time in the house of nobility ‘Ingenting’, which was within the confines of Karlberg Palace. At the time, it was an idyllic pastoral area far from the lively town – today it’s just minutes away from the city.

Nearby you’ll find Haga Park, one of Stockholm’s most beautiful green spaces, perfect for park runs. Those of you with good stamina can join the “Brunnsviken runt” trail, a popular course that runs just over 10 km. Our hotel is around three kilometres from the park – quite the workout. Go for it!

• Check-in is from 3pm. Check-out is 11am latest.

• Free parking available subject to availability: ask for a permit for your windscreen. Four spaces are reserved for electric cars.

• The gym is open from 5am to 11pm and is free for our guests.

• The laundry room is booked at the hotel.

• Breakfast buffet is served in Restaurant Asplund Monday-Friday 7am-9am. Priced at 95 SEK per person.

• Brunch is offered on Saturdays from 11.30am-4pm. Please make a reservation directly with the restaurant. The restaurant serves lunch every weekday except during Christmas and summer breaks.

• Our massage therapist Felix may be booked for in-house visits at Asplund. A naprapathy therapist is available at our gym and can be booked on meckbach.se.

• The booking window is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

• Pre-payment is done via a payment link prior to arrival.

• For guests staying longer than seven nights, weekly cleaning is included. Bed linen and towels are always included. We have a laundry room complimentary for everyone.

• We don’t have a reception – staff can be reached by phone. Check-in information is sent out via email three days prior to arrival.

• The hotel is dog friendly. An additional cleaning fee of 350 SEK will be added to your bill. Note that dogs are welcome in the restaurant’s outdoor terrace, but not inside.

• Second Home Apartments is strictly non-smoking. Wi-Fi is always complimentary.
